Selling MyNightOut for $45 a Month!

This post is about the  MYNIGHTOUT Phone, and how it can sell your services better than any flyer, email, brochure etc.

Your primary objective is to make MYNIGHTOUT something to brag about!

  • Lots of events in each category for each day
  • focus on repeat events to populate your phone the most with the least bit of work
  • Read our post on importing facebook events, once you master it, you will be posting facebook events in seconds.
  • Create posters for the general public and to put in participating restaurants and bars etc.
EXAMPLES

The Facebook one we sell 5 copies for $50 and we put them in the customers business.  The Dark one has advertisements that we sell to our customers who want to promote them selves as users of the app.

Using Mailchimp or other email marketing system for promotions

We have a number of lists in our Mailchimp Database
  • All our profiles email addresses in one listing
  • Our Newsletter subscribers in another
  • In another listing we have all our personal and business contacts
  • Multiple lists that we host belonging to customers
For the  MYNIGHTOUT  app, we send out the following email blast... Click Here

Selling your website by promoting your phone.

The nightout marketing program can get pretty complex and overwhelming to many business owners have don't know alot about websites, SEO, and all that spin that we all try to use in a sales demonstration.

Your mobile app is just as, if not more important than your website.  The world is going mobile, and they love new and exciting apps to have on their phone.  Many Business owners know more about their phone than they do about their computer, and our SEO is showing a tremendous switch from Desktop Browsers to mobile app browsers.  So its pretty evident that if your not utilizing the power of your app, then your missing the boat.

The first thing you should show a potential customer is your phone app, and show them how neat it is.

The first thing there gonna ask you is...

"How much does it cost to get on the app".

Your response is quick ans easy...

"It's $45 a month, unlimited messages,
and we'll give you a profile on our website for free!"

Don't sell them anything else, get the order, get paid, and get your customer on that app as soon as possible.

MailChimp RSS Driven Campaigns and Your RSS Feeds

The first thing you will need is at least a free mailchimp account.

Get one here http://mailchimp.com

Next you want to create a RSS-Driven Campaign

Mailchimp will ask for the RSS Feed for the Campaign

There are numerous RSS feeds that can be used, depending on the type of Newsletter you want to promote.

Website RSS Feeds

  • Today's St. John's NL Specials and Events
    • http://www.stjohnsnightout.com/rss
  • St. John's NL Dining
    • http://www.stjohnsnightout.com/rss.php?cat_id=1
  • St. John's NL Drinks
    • http://www.stjohnsnightout.com/rss.php?cat_id=2
  • St. John's NL Entertainment
    • http://www.stjohnsnightout.com/rss.php?cat_id=3
  • St. John's NL Live Music
    • http://www.stjohnsnightout.com/rss.php?cat_id=4
  • St. John's NL Accommodations
    • http://www.stjohnsnightout.com/rss.php?cat_id=5

Profile RSS Feeds
  • Current day only:
  • All events:
Profile feed links can be found at the bottom of any event under admin for each profile

A couple of things to note regarding RSS feeds and Event Contents

  • RSS Feeds are compatible with HTML inserted into an event description such as an image
  • EXAMPLE CODE
  • RESULTS
  •  Weekend Entertainment
  • RSS Feeds do not pick up images or videos using the
    • Optional Photo (.jpg .png .gif)
      • OR
    • Video event field
  • RSS Feeds do pick up embed codes like Flash/YouTube videos, but they will not display in your email campaign because they are not email compatible. Images like the above example do work.
    • So you can still include them in an event and they shouldn't effect your campaign.
MONTHLY EVENT HIGHLIGHTS RSS FEED

I created a profile on my site for the purpose of having a monthly email sent out once a month that highlights certain events that I selected.

The profile I'm using is here

There is a bug that Ben is fixing as we speak that I encountered, when that is fixed I will create a post that focuses on this feature.

Importing Facebook Events

Everyone who has spent countless hours creating events probably don't know how easy it is to import events from facebook without having to to hardly any typing at all.

I've been using this process now for over a month and it has saved me hours of work as well as created great traffic to my site and improved my social media marketing.

Although the steps may seem like alot, once you do this a couple of times, you will see how easy it really is.

Step one - Go To Facebook Events for your area.

  • This link should work for your area   https://www.facebook.com/events/list
  • Bookmark the link for future use
  • Select an event that you would like to import into your nightout site
  • NOTE: A profile will be necessary for posting the facebook event

Step Two - Select the Facebook Event code
  • Once you select an event you want to copy the event code
  • Do Not Select the "/" slashes

Step Three - IN A SEPARATE BROWSER TAB, Login as Admin and select Specials and Events

Step Four - Select Import Facebook Events

Step Five - Login as Admin and select Specials and Events
  • Your Website should list events it already found
  • Simply Click on the Heading of the first event and your site will display that event

  • The url for the event will look like below

Step Six - Paste the facebook event code with the one you copied

  • Press ENTER to Retrieve the pasted facebook event

Step Seven - Click The Add Button to Create the Selected event

Step Eight -  Select The Profile that you want to include the event for

Step Nine -  Check the event and make sure that
  1. The Category is Correct
  2. The Sub Category is Correct
  3. The Date, start and stop time is correct

Step Ten - Set the Event Website Link to point to the facebook Event (optional)

This will make the event display as follows once it goes live

Step Eleven - Submit The event

Step Twelve - View The Event

Finally -  Copy the URL of the NIGHTOUT event and paste it into the facebook event you just added

  • You will have to "join" the event or select "maybe" in order to post your url
  • This is an important step so that you can promote your website and let the organizer know that you di so.
  • Your Post will look like this... DONT FORGET TO "POST" IT  once you paste the url

Sometimes I Also make a second post for my mobile app to promote the app as well...

Creating A Newsletter From Your NightOut Feed

Are you one of those NightOut Owners that struggled to create a newsletter for your NightOut Site?

This article might be the answer you've been looking for!

When I first started with my NightOut site, this was one of the first things I tried to get going, but I struggled with a number of issues.

Some of the issues I first encountered was:

  • Subscribers
  • Newsletter template
  • Content
  • Subscription Service
  • Experience

Once I realized that first I'm going to need some subscribers, I abandoned the issue and left it for another time. Well it took me almost three years to get back to it, and I'm thinking that I never should of left it for so long.

Newsletters are a very good way of ...

  • Promoting your site,
  • Promoting your paying customers,
  • Generating additional revenue through advertisements
  • Building a social following outside social media
  • Keep your loyal followers informed
